Cherokee removal, also called the Trail of Tears, refers to the forced relocation between 1836 to 1839 of the Cherokee Nation from their lands in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and North Carolina to the Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) in the Western United States, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 4,000 Cherokee.

and aviation pioneers who were credited with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled,
powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, on December 17, 1903.

The USS North Carolina (BB-55) was a battleship of the United States Navy and the lead ship of the North Carolina class. She was the first battleship construction of the U.S. Navy since the completion of the West Virginia 1923rd The North Carolina from 1941 to 1947 served in the U.S. Navy and was used during the Second World War in the Pacific theater.
Since 1962 she is a museum ship on the shore of the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, North Carolina.
